Yesterday morning

A Seattle snow,
politely sticking just to everything that isn't paved,
perfect and nostalgic
like a Norman Rockwell painting.

I am back -- and it was wonderful

I wouldn't write books set in Japan if I didn't love the place.  I do.  Still, and maybe always.  I like its quirks, I like its sense of fun, I like the core values of the culture that seem to never change.

I went to Taisekiji, the head temple of Nichiren Shoshu Buddhism, for a festival that involves the airing, reading and display of historic documents.  So beautiful and meaningful.

It occurs during hanami, the time of cherry blossoms, where the Blossom Report is a regular feature on the news and prime viewing days can be predicted with amazing accuracy.

There's plenty to see on Facebook, and I will post more about this trip as time goes on.

Most relevant here:

I did research for Book 4!  And it's going to be good.

Book 3 will be published this summer.

Books 1 & 2 are available now.
